Confirmation Info

Confirmation is the formal (but still fun) time when students learn more about what it means to be Christians and United Methodists. Confirmation invites students to:

• Know their story by encountering the faith narrative from creation to Christianity
• Confirm their faith by embracing the essential beliefs and practices of The United Methodist Church
• Live their commitment by embodying the confirmation vows and embark on the Christian discipleship journey.

At the end of confirmation, students have the chance to make a public profession of faith and become full members of the church. If they were baptized as infants or children, confirmation gives them the chance to confirm the decision made at that time by their parents.

At Christ Church, confirmation occurs in the 8th grade (although older students who have not been confirmed are welcome to participate). Letters will go out this fall to all 8th grade students listed in our membership database.
